Arktyczny poranek. Pierwszy jesienny mróz zetnie trawę

Noc z niedzieli na poniedziałek oraz poniedziałkowy poranek przyniosą drastyczny spadek temperatur. W wielu zakątkach Polski termometry wskażą wartości jednocyfrowe - poniżej 10 stopni Celsjusza. Najgorsza sytuacja czeka jednak mieszkańców południowej części kraju. W dolinach, kotlinach oraz tzw. zastoiskach chłodu, przy bezwietrznej aurze, temperatura przy linii gruntu runie w dół, osiągając nawet -4 stopnie Celsjusza! Rolnicy i działkowcy powinni mieć się na baczności - to będzie pierwszy tak silny powiew jesieni w tym roku.

Słoneczny poniedziałek z małym "ale"

Na szczęście w ciągu dnia sytuacja szybko zacznie się poprawiać. Choć zachmurzenie z umiarkowanego wzrośnie do dużego, to większość kraju dostanie solidną dawkę słońca. Najbardziej pogodne niebo utrzyma się na Warmii i Mazurach, Podlasiu, Mazowszu, Lubelszczyźnie, Podkarpaciu oraz w Górach Świętokrzyskich. Większość Polski pozostanie sucha, ale mieszkańcy zachodnich województw muszą wyciągnąć parasole. W drugiej połowie dnia słaby deszcz spadnie na zachodzie, a wieczorem symbolicznie pokropi również na Śląsku i w Małopolsce. Termometry w najcieplejszym momencie poniedziałku wskażą:

• 17-18 stopni Celsjusza na Podhalu oraz w rejonie Żuław Wiślanych,
• 19-21 stopni Celsjusza na północy, wschodzie i w centrum,
• 22-23 stopnie Celsjusza na Śląsku, w Małopolsce oraz na zachodnim wybrzeżu.

Ten zimowy epizod potrwa jednak dosłownie chwilę. Już we wtorek i środę (8-9 września) czeka nas gigantyczne uderzenie gorąca. Do Polski z południa szerokim strumieniem napłynie zwrotnikowe powietrze. Na przeważającym obszarze kraju słupki rtęci bez problemu przekroczą 25 stopni Celsjusza, natomiast na południu i południowym wschodzie czeka nas prawdziwe anomalne szaleństwo. Termometry odnotują tam od 30 do nawet 33 stopni Celsjusza w cieniu! Będą to prawdopodobnie jedne z ostatnich tak upalnych dni w tym roku.

Niestety, najnowsze prognozy długoterminowe przynoszą fatalne wieści dla fanów letniej aury. Środowy upał będzie tylko łabędzim śpiewem lata. Już od czwartku nad Polskę nadciągnie potężne tąpnięcie. Zimno z północy niemal całkowicie wypchnie gorące powietrze na wschód, a przez kraj przetoczą się gwałtowne burze i ulewy. Kolejne tygodnie września upłyną pod znakiem temperatur poniżej normy wieloletniej. Słupki rtęci będą miały ogromny problem z przekroczeniem granicy 20 stopni Celsjusza, a w drugiej dekadzie miesiąca standardem staną się wartości rzędu 15-20 stopni Celsjusza w dzień i jednocyfrowe wskazania w nocy. Najmocniej i najczęściej lać ma na Pomorzu oraz Mazurach, choć regularny deszcz nie ominie również głębi kraju. Wygląda na to, że jesień zagości u nas na stałe znacznie szybciej, niż wcześniej zakładano.

Poles must prepare for a powerful thermal shock. The weather at the beginning of the new week will completely unravel, treating us to extreme contrasts. The upcoming Monday, September 7, 2026, will be marked by a dynamic battle between two extreme air masses. Although the sun will shine brightly during the day, the morning will be icy for many of us. This is all due to a powerful high-pressure system that will move over the Carpathians.

An arctic morning. The first autumn frost will cut the grass

Sunday night into Monday and Monday morning will bring a drastic drop in temperatures. In many corners of Poland, thermometers will show single-digit values – below 10 degrees Celsius. However, the worst situation awaits residents of the southern part of the country.

In valleys, basins, and so-called "southern" areas, temperatures will drop dramatically. In pockets of cold, with no wind, temperatures at ground level will plummet, reaching as low as -4 degrees Celsius! Farmers and gardeners should be on their guard – this will be the first strong autumn breeze of the year.

Sunny Monday with a small "but"

Fortunately, the situation will quickly improve during the day. Although cloud cover will increase from moderate to heavy, most of the country will receive a solid dose of sunshine. The clearest skies will persist in Warmia and Mazury, Podlasie, Mazovia, the Lublin region, the Subcarpathia region and the Świętokrzyskie Mountains.

Most of Poland will remain dry, but residents of the western voivodeships will need to bring out their umbrellas. In the second half of the day, light rain will fall in the west, and in the evening, a small amount of sprinkles will also fall in Silesia and Lesser Poland. Thermometers at the warmest point on Monday will show:

• 17-18 degrees Celsius in Podhale and the Żuławy Wiślane region,
• 19-21 degrees Celsius in the north, east, and central regions,
• 22-23 degrees Celsius in Silesia, Małopolska, and the west coast.

This winter episode, however, will last only a short time. On Tuesday and Wednesday (September 8th and 9th), a gigantic heatwave awaits us. Tropical air will flow into Poland from the south in a broad stream.

Across most of the country, the mercury will easily exceed 25 degrees Celsius, while in the south and southeast, we'll experience truly abnormal temperatures. Thermometers will record 30 to even 33 degrees Celsius in the shade! These will likely be some of the last days this hot this year.

Unfortunately, the latest long-term forecasts bring disastrous news for summer weather fans. Wednesday's heatwave will be the summer's swan song. Starting Thursday, a powerful downpour will arrive in Poland. Cold from the north will almost completely push the hot air eastward, and violent storms and downpours will sweep across the country.

The next few weeks of September will be marked by temperatures below the long-term norm. The mercury will struggle to break the 20-degree Celsius mark, and in the second ten days of the month, temperatures of 15-20 degrees Celsius during the day and single-digit readings at night will become the norm. The heaviest and most frequent downpours are expected in Pomerania and Masuria, although regular rain will also affect the interior of the country. It looks like autumn will be here for good much sooner than previously expected.
